LOAVES & FISHES

MINISTERING THROUGH MEALS

What is Loaves & Fishes?

Loaves and Fishes is a CWC ministry that provides meals to members of our congregation who have recently had surgery or a hospital stay, lost a loved one, had a baby, or had another acute life change causing them to need meals.

"…suddenly I had to have extensive neck surgery with 4-6 months of rehab. Loaves & Fishes took the burden of cooking off my husband when he got home after a long day of work! People brought meals that were prepared with love. We enjoyed the meals, plus it gave us the opportunity to meet new friends and talk and pray with them. I felt very loved and cared for during this difficult time and I got to receive God's goodness through the ministry of Loaves and Fishes."

- Karen D.

"During one of our family’s hardest seasons, it was a blessing to not concern ourselves with meals because of how Loaves and Fishes provided for us. I am still blessed by this ministry by the privilege of being a blessing to others by providing a meal."

- Monica G.

"As our beloved Jesus said, “the harvest is bountiful, but the laborers are few”.
I like to volunteer, as it helps me to feel close to the Lord and to the community. Serving in the Loaves & Fishes ministry has allowed me to live a much richer and fuller life serving our Lord Jesus Christ."

- Deborah

"I felt so loved and cared for when meals were brought to me last year. The meals helped tremendously, but I think what really meant so much to me was someone would bring me a meal and would sit and visit with me. It made me feel loved and cared for. It made me feel very much like I was part of the body of Christ."

- Linda
“…For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in…. The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of my brothers of mine, you did for me."
Matthew 25:35, 40 (NIV)
