Providing biblical guidance for faith and life
What is Biblical Counseling?
Biblical counseling is based upon the Word of God. It addresses the complexity of life issues within the context of Scripture. This counseling concentrates on matters of the heart - our thoughts, attitudes, motives, actions and speech, indicating genuine and lasting change occurs as the result of the working of the Holy Spirit in one’s heart, (Eph. 3:16-19).
Biblical counseling is process; its approach is conformity to the likeness of Christ and is accomplished through salvation (John 3:36), growing in Christ, and putting off the old man and putting on the new man (Eph. 4:22-24 |Col. 3:9-10). Biblical Counseling provides a hope that does not disappoint (Romans 5:5) and it emphasizes the glory of God.
1. In the inerrancy of Scripture. That the Bible, Old and New Testament are the inspired, infallible Word of God; therefore, we do not integrate human secular psychology and philosophy with the Word of God.
2. "All Scripture is breathed out by God and useful for teaching, for conviction, for correction and for disciplined training in righteousness in order to fit and fully equip the man from God for every good task." (2 Timothy 3:16, 17) Therefore, our Biblical Counseling ministry offers the hope found in the Word of God, to individuals who struggle with sin and suffering.
3. Change is an issue of the heart and the work of the Holy Spirit.
